Polish in 4 weeks, is this Possible, No it isnt, but it is fun!

Dobry wieczor, (Good evening)

Mam na imie Remi. A ty? (My name is Remi and yours?)
Jak sie masz? (How are you doing?)
Dobrze, a ty? (I am fine and you?)
Swietny (excellent)
Milo mi ( Nice to meet you)

Mam pytanie. Co to jest? ( I have a question, what is that?)

At the moment I am studying Polish Language because I live and work in Poland since october 2008. Krakow is a really nice and interesting city, and there is still so much to discover.
Some of my colleagues showed me Kazimierz, the old Jewish district in the city, maybe you have ever seen, Schindlers list, the movie was made for a big part in Krakow in this district.
But now I will not write about Krakow, cause that would take to long, and I want to write something down about my Polish Language course. So I promise that in the near future I will write a whole page about Krakow and maybe even more then a page, and yes for the people that want to see pictures, they will appear aswell.

Today was the first lesson in the new year, normally we are 5 people, but tonight I was alone with the teacher. So I had private lesson. This was brilliant, cause I still have many problems with the Instrumental and Accusetive, so basicly with Grammar in general.
I can understand every day more and more words, but the 2nd level is to start talking and use the words. I can tell you that this is really hard, but I will not give up and I will succeed to learn a basic Polish what can help me getting arround in Krakow and in Poland.

''Mam na imie Remi, Mieszkam I pracuje w Krakowie, Intersuje sie teatrem.'' ( my name is remi and my work is in Krakow and I like theater)

Some examples from our lessons:

ladny - brzydki (Pretty - Ugly)
Wesoly - Smutny ( Happy - Sad)
Wysoka - Niska (Tall - Short)
Zdrowy - Chory (Healthy - Ill)
Pracowity - Leniwy ( Hardworking - Lazy)
Szczupla - Gruba (Thin - Big (fat) )
  1. Adam (byc) ...Jest....teraz w pracy. (Adam is now at work)
  2. Skad pan (byc) ...Jest..? (Where is he from?)
  3. Co ...gotujesz.. na obiad? (ty gotowac) (What do you cook for dinner?)

Hollendrzy lubia jezdzic na rowerze. ( Dutch people like to drive their bicycles)

So this where some examples from my lessons, I really enjoy the lessons really much, and it is just so nice to discover every day, week more and more things about the Polish language. But it isnt easy, in Polish you can say Bardzo trudny ( Really Difficult).

For everybody interested in learning Polish, you could check the website that I found on my Polish book, www.hurra.edu.pl

Further I am always open to people who have tips or tricks about learning the Polish language.

Probably I will write some more about my battle and struggle to learn Polish, so dont be amazed if some day you will find a polish article in this webblog :)
